I looked up this website after some of my hubby's relative's told me of this staircase. I found it intriguing, mysterious, miraculous and beautiful. The chapel itself seems very beautiful as well.

Oh there's no place like snow for the holidays!

Turns out Chompers second experience with snow seemed to please him more than the first time around. On the way up to Fernley, NV; we stopped off a little passed Donner Summit to let the dog take a bathroom break and stretch out his legs. The first time we exposed him to the snow, about 2 years ago, he didn't seem to care for it much, he just wanted back in the car. I think this time we kept the car warm enough and his jacket stayed on so he was welcoming the freshness of the snow and cold air. We were making snowballs and he was trying to catch them. You would have thought he was a dog in a doggie biscuit store! He was so worn out by the end of his snow play.

The day after

Ahhh...the surprise went well :) He admitted to suspecting something for his birthday besides just the game. He didn't look totally surprised when we "bumped" into his friends at the game but he appreciated all the thought and work that went into his surprise :)
On another note...today we made him a cake. It was from scratch and I had to improvise a little for some of the ingredients. I just took the cake out of the oven and I have to say...looks pretty good! Yeah me!

Hubby's b-day!

It's hubby's birthday tomorrow! I can't wait to surprise him with his gift! He has no idea I'm taking him to the SJ Sharks game. Woo Hoo! I love it when a surprise goes well :)

Is there something between a point & shoot digital camera and an slr? I would love to advance from my slim, Sony Cybershot but don't necessarily want to spend tons of green for an slr.
